8th Annual EFH Freedom Run on July 4th, 2009
Once again it is time for the Bill Emerson Memorial EFH Freedom Run. There are 10K
and 5K fun runs and a one mile walk to support the Epilepsy Foundation of Hawaii. Registration begins at 6 am and
the starting gun goes off at 7 am at Kailua High School.
Awards will be given and this year we're giving extra awards for the participants who collect the most DONATIONS so
ask your friends, coworkers, and neighbors to help out and sponsor you on this great event! As usual, FOOD will be available
before and after the event and starting at 10 am head to Kailua town to enjoy the Kailua 4th of July Parade after the run.
DISTANCES:
Run: 5K (3.1 miles) or
10K (6.2 miles) - Starts south entrance of Kailua H.S. (course map)
New
10k. Course - Initially follows the 5K course but splits off to go well above Enchanted Lake and then proceeds towards Kailua
Town and then turns around and returns on the same route. (course map)
Walk:
1 mile – Starts south entrance of Kailua H.S. South on Akiohala St. Continue south on Keolu Dr. to the marked turnaround
point. Follow the same route back to finish line at Kailua H.S. gym. Walkers with pets welcome.
AWARDS:
1st place male and female overall (Run course only).
Top three age group finishers (Run course only): 6-12,
13-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-59, 70+.
DRAWINGS: Random drawings for valuable prizes.
REGISTRATION:
On or before June 21: $25
(includes T-shirt).
After June 21: $30 (T-shirt not guaranteed)
There is a family rate of $60 for a family of up to 5 people ($80 after June 15). Please call Nancy at 528-3058

PACKET PICK UP:
There are three opportunities for Packet pickup.
1) Saturday, June 27 from noon - 3pm at McCully Bicycle & Sporting Goods, 2124 S. King St. (Honolulu)
2) Friday July 3 from noon to 3 pm at Fleet Feet, 17 Aulike St, (Kailua)
3) Onsite on the morning
of the event beginning at 6 am (Kailua High School)
